Maximizing Domain Portfolios

10 Free Moniker Tools

Richard: Exactly. And, you know, the final note that I’d like to end on with the PPC is that the PPC partners and providers that are out there, Overture, Google, and the small--the fabulous domain sponsors [inaudible] of the world, with these guys being out there, it’s really creating competitiveness between the PPC partners, so that, you know, we don’t only have one person that we can go to that is wanting to bid on our traffic. And, you know, we have to except exclusivity contracts and contracts for multiple years, with increasing competitiveness between the PPC partners, it really is a bright future for the domainer.

Monte: Yeah, definitely. As a matter of fact, we’re going to be reintroducing a new product that’s right in those lines that has, you know, the choice of multiple players and evaluates multiple PPC providers and payers on a domain by domain basis and helps customers evaluate what the best choices it. It’s not for a whole portfolio, but on an individual domain by domain basis so that they can maximize return on those by using multiple players, because each one has a niche, like you mentioned, they have better payouts, depending on what kind of industry they’re targeting, where they main ad networks and ad providers are paying, their paper click might be higher for one particular name on one provider and higher on another for another provider.

Richard: Exactly.

Monte: So it’s good to be able to see who’s paying what, for what types of domains, what industries, and we’re excited to launch that in a little while.

Richard: Yeah. When I was building DomainManager, one of the reasons that I wanted to be able to do it myself is to be able to compare the different PPC providers and I had a disagreement with one of the PPC providers and I was talking with them on the telephone, and during the conversation, I just thought it was going down hill, I said okay, you know what, I’m not sending the traffic to you anymore. And he said well there’s 1,000 domains, when are you going to do that, I’m like, it’s done as we speak, it’s done already. And, you know, he refreshed his page and saw that it was going over to a domain sponsor. And, you know, that’s the power of the domainer. He, you know [inaudible] always says, he who controls the traffic, you know--

Monte: That’s right, that was the big point at the Traffic Conference, was that there’s nothing better than a type in domain name, you know, from a natural traffic standpoint and the value that that provides from these providers, you know, for these PPC players.

Richard: Exactly.

Monte: Well, that’s great, Richard, you know, I know that you really like to emphasize working hard, playing hard, you went through a lot in your life and you’ve done a great job in terms of the companies and the customers that you’ve brought on board, the companies you’ve created and you’ve really done a great job in providing value to end users. And, you know, the free models are working for you and, you know, we definitely appreciate all your advice and having you on the show, and I’d like to have you on again in the near future, if that would work for you.

Richard: I’d love to.

Monte: Great.

Richard: That would be great.

Monte: And, you know, again, everybody should visit Richard’s site, one of his main sites, which is freephotos.com, which is a free photography sharing network, you can upload and download pictures for free, it’s pretty virile, and it works better than having to pay for the photos, that’s for sure. And DomainManager is a kick ass system, as well, we’re going to be working together on some of those offerings, with Moniker, as well, and so we’re real excited to start using them and to working with you.

Richard: Great.

Monte: All right, we’re gonna break for commercial, pay some more bills, and coming up next is Howard Neu, and we’re gonna talk about some legal issues and the upcoming Traffic Conference, and cover some other things in the industry. Thanks, again, Richard, and have a good evening.

Richard: Thank you.

Monte: Okay, we’ll be back in a minute.
